The fees for our Stocks & Shares ISA, General Investment Account, Stocks & Shares Lifetime ISA, and Junior ISA are outlined below.
Information on fees is always accessible in the app by heading to Settings > How investing fees work, and you can see how much you’ve paid in fees since opening your account in the app in Wealth > Select Account > Breakdown.
Account fees are charged at the end of each month by selling down a small portion of your largest holding, so no additional funds are taken by direct debit.
Monthly subscription fee
£1 a month, free for the first three months. This fee is charged according to your Moneybox account, not by the number of investment accounts you have with us.
This means even if you have multiple investment accounts with Moneybox, your total subscription fee will remain at £1. This fee covers all transactions and all investing costs and is charged at the end of each month by selling down your largest holding.
This £1 monthly subscription fee is waived for customers with £5k or more in our Cash ISA, Open Access Cash ISA, and/or Simple Saver, or across Moneybox investing accounts including our Stocks & Shares ISA, Stocks & Shares Lifetime ISA, and General Investment Account.
Service fee
This fee covers the ongoing cost of providing and administering your investment account. Annual service fees for Moneybox funds are 0.15%. For investment into all other funds, this is 0.45%.
This fee accrues daily but is charged monthly by selling down your largest holding. It’s not charged on uncommitted cash holdings, like cash held within your investing account.
Fund provider fees
You will also pay annual fund fees which cover fund management costs and transaction costs. They are charged by the fund provider, so are included when the fund provider calculates the value of your investments and are subject to change. You can find a full list of our available funds and their fees here.
If you withdraw all your money or close your account we calculate the subscription fee and the service fee on a daily basis for that month and deduct these charges before you receive the money.
Fees for Available Cash
For money held in an investment account as Available Cash, we do not charge a customer service fee – instead, we will retain the difference (if any) between the interest received from the underlying third party banks and the amounts paid on your product. The interest rate you see in the app is the interest rate you’ll receive.
Fees for US stocks (S&S ISA only)
If you choose to invest in US stocks, in addition to our annual service fee, we collect a 0.45% currency conversion fee from the value of the trade before it is sent to be traded. This covers the cost of converting from GBP(£) to USD($) and vice versa. We do not charge any commission for investing in stocks.
