At a time when it is more important than ever for you to save and invest for your future, the need for better financial education and literacy is even greater. That’s why this week we launched the Moneybox Academy – an online and offline education series that will teach you what you need to know to plan for your financial future.
In our recent survey of 18-35 year olds, we discovered that two-thirds of you have never been taught about financial planning. Most of you wish you’d had a financial education, but this isn’t part of the curriculum at school or university. And three-quarters of you feel you don’t have the information you need to confidently plan for your future.
For too long, support for those who want to save and invest has been geared to the already wealthy. We believe we need to better equip our generation with the knowledge and tools to be able to plan our finances more effectively.
The Moneybox Academy will do just that. Here you’ll learn key investing concepts and develop new skills to help you to make good decisions about your money. Check it out in the Moneybox Blog in the Discover tab of the app. It will cover topics such as compounding, volatility, active vs. passive funds and pound-cost averaging – and give you tips to apply these to your life.
As part of our commitment to you, we’re also launching a series of educational workshops – the first of which took place this week at the Moneybox HQ and was attended by a group of our customers. We’re planning on rolling these out across the country so stay tuned.
Our aim is simple – to give you the information you need to make confident financial decisions and feel empowered to plan for the future. Go to the Discover tab of the app now to start.
