How do I withdraw from my Lifetime ISA (LISA) to purchase my first home?
If you’re withdrawing from your LISA to make a qualifying first home purchase, you’ll just need to submit your solicitor/conveyancer’s details in Settings > Withdraw > Lifetime ISA > Buying your first home.
Here you’ll be able to check that you meet HMRC’s eligibility criteria, and provide your solicitor’s name, company, and email address. We’ll contact your solicitor directly to get the process started!
We’d recommend getting in touch about one month before you need to use the funds towards your purchase, so we have time to liaise with your solicitor to confirm your details. Once we have everything we need, we’ll review the withdrawal request within 5 working days to verify all the details.
Then, if you have a Cash LISA, we’ll time your withdrawal so the money reaches your solicitor in time for the date they have requested the funds by. Once we’ve initiated the withdrawal, it typically completes on the next working day.
If you have a Stocks & Shares LISA, the withdrawal is initiated straight away after the request has been reviewed, and then typically completes within 5 working days.
Although we can initiate a withdrawal and sell down your investments prior to your LISA maturation date, we can only release the funds to your solicitor/conveyancer after the 12 month maturation date.
