How long does it take for my money to be invested?
There are two ways to pay into your investment account with Moneybox – either through our weekly payment cycle, or via Instant bank transfers (not currently available for Pensions or JISA).
For funds added via our weekly collection cycle, your payment will follow the timings below. Note that if you’ve had a deposit collected in our most recent weekly collection on Wednesday 29th March, this is due to be debited on Monday 3rd April, and although your payment is due to be invested / arrive with your partner bank(s) after the beginning of the new tax year, providing the payment is successful, this will still count towards the 22/23 tax year.
Your savings are collected from your ‘Saved this week’ total in the home screen of the app every Wednesday at around midday. At this stage, you’ll be able to see this collection appear in the ‘Activity’ section of the Accounts tab.
The money leaves your linked bank account via Direct Debit early the following week (usually on the Monday). By the end of the day on Tuesday, you’ll see your deposit added to your balance in the Accounts tab.
Your money is submitted for investment on the Thursday after it leaves your bank account (six business days after the weekly collection). You’ll be able to see the money you’ve invested in your portfolio the following week in the Accounts tab.
Your investment in each asset will then settle over the next few days and you’ll receive a contract note confirming the trade in Settings > Documents > Notifications.
The ‘Current Value’ total seen in the Accounts tab will include all invested totals, inclusive of any gains/losses, fees, Moneybox+ rewards, and LISA bonuses (if applicable). Only funds which have been invested and are fully settled are available for withdrawal.
