Fix your rate for a year
A fixed rate ISA pays you a set interest rate for a set period, and any interest you earn is tax-free.
With the Moneybox 1 Year Fixed Rate ISA, you agree to leave your money with us for 12 months. In return, you get 4.50% AER fixed, and that rate can't change if the market moves.

How the Moneybox Fixed Rate ISA works
It takes a few minutes in the Moneybox app. There’s no minimum to open, and you choose when to deposit. You can pay in new money, transfer a cash ISA you hold elsewhere, or both.
Your rate is fixed the moment your funding window opens, at the rate we’re offering that day. You then have seven days to add money. Everything you pay in during those seven days gets that same rate.
Everything from one funding window becomes a , with its own rate and its own maturity date. Interest builds daily and is paid at the end of the term. Open another window creates a second Vault running alongside the first - each with their own interest rates. Your ISA stays open throughout.

Everything you need to know
What's the account name?
1 Year Fixed Rate ISA
What's the interest rate?
4.50% AER (fixed). Interest is calculated daily, and is paid at the end of your 12-month term.
Can the interest rate change?
No. Once your funding window opens, the rate on money you add during that window is fixed for the full 12 months. However, we can change the rate we offer to new customers at any time
When is my rate locked in?
Your rate is locked when your funding window opens, not when you open the account. The window runs for 7 days and closes at 23:59 on the seventh day. If you don't complete the required steps within the deadline, the rate we held for you is no longer guaranteed.
What would the estimated balance be after 12 months based on a £1,000 deposit?
Estimated balance after 12 months - £1,045.00
This assumes that:
£1,000 is added to a Vault at the interest rate shown above;
the money remains in the Vault until its access date;
and no early withdrawal is made.
Is there a minimum deposit?
Open with as little as £1. Easy bank transfers have a £100 minimum.
Is there a maximum?
There’s no maximum balance, but ISA contribution limits apply. You can contribute up to £20,000 across all ISA products in this tax year.
That limit covers new money only. Transfers of money you saved in an ISA in a previous tax year don’t use up your allowance, so you can transfer in more than £20,000. Anything you’ve paid into an ISA this tax year still counts towards it.
Can I take my money out before the term ends?
You can withdraw early, but a charge equal to 90 days' interest applies. The charge is taken off before we pay you, and it could reduce your balance to less than you paid in. Withdrawals go to your linked bank account and take 2-3 working days.
Can I change my mind after opening?
You can cancel within 14 days of opening the account. We'll return everything you've paid in. No interest is paid on cancelled accounts.
How do I open and manage my account?
The account is available to UK residents aged 18 or over. You can only open and manage it in the Moneybox app. Joint accounts aren't available.

1 Year Fixed Rate ISA FAQs
The questions people ask most often before opening a Fixed Rate ISA.
How does a 1 Year Fixed Rate ISA work?
You pay money in, agree to leave it for 12 months, and earn a rate that's fixed for the whole term. The interest is tax-free because it sits inside an ISA. At the end of the 12 months your money matures and you choose what happens next. Read more in How
What's a Vault?
A Vault is one pot of money inside your 1 Year Fixed Rate ISA, with its own rate and its own maturity date. Everything you add during a single funding window lands in the same Vault, because it all gets the same rate and the same date. Add money again later and that's a new Vault.
You'll see all Vaults opened on your product page, so you always know what matures when. If you need to withdraw money from a Vault before it matures, you must withdraw the whole Vault rather than part of it. And remember, the early withdrawal charge applies, which is 90 days' interest.
What makes a good fixed rate ISA?
Rate matters, but it isn't the only thing. Check how long your money is locked away, whether you can get at it in an emergency and what that costs, the minimum deposit, and whether you can transfer existing ISAs in. An account paying slightly less with early access may suit you better than one with no way out.
Should I lock in my rate now?
Nobody can tell you where rates are going. What a fixed rate gives you is certainty: whatever happens to the market, your return doesn't move. The trade-off is flexibility. If rates rise, you're locked into the lower one until your term ends.
Can I pay into more than one cash ISA in the same tax year?
Yes, you can pay into more than one cash ISA in a tax year, as long as you stay within your £20,000 total allowance across all your ISAs for this tax year.
What's the difference between a cash ISA and a regular savings account?
The account does the same job. The difference is tax. Interest in a regular savings account counts towards your Personal Savings Allowance, and anything above it is taxed at your rate. Interest inside a cash ISA isn't taxed at all. Read Cash ISAs vs Savings Accounts blog more information.
What happens to my money at the end of the 12 months?
We'll tell you before your term ends and you choose what happens next. You can take the money out, move it somewhere else at Moneybox, or fix it again at whatever rate we're offering then.
Is my money safe with Moneybox?
Your money is held by Aldermore, an FSCS-protected UK bank. You’re covered up to £120,000 per person per bank for your total eligible deposits with that bank. Read more about FSCS protection and how it works at Moneybox. Moneybox is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
