Moneybox Promotional Terms

1. INTRODUCTION 

From time to time, Moneybox offers customer promotions.  When we do, we need to ensure that everyone clearly understands the terms and conditions that apply to the promotion. That’s the purpose of this document.

These terms and conditions apply to all promotions offered by Digital Moneybox Limited (“Moneybox”, “we” or “us”) and Moneybox Mortgages Ltd. 

Each promotion will have its own bespoke set of terms and conditions. This document sets out some core rules that apply to all our promotions. If there’s any disagreement between this document and something in specific terms and conditions for a particular promotion, then the specific terms and conditions for the particular promotion will supersede.

2. TYPES OF PROMOTION

Our promotions may give you the opportunity to receive any one of the following rewards:

• • • Moneybox Cash Deposit – this is where you receive money from Moneybox as a deposit to your Moneybox product or linked personal bank account.
    • Moneybox Reward Shares – this is where you receive an option to subscribe for shares in Moneybox.
    • Any other incentives offered by Moneybox from time to time. 

3. GENERAL

By signing up to a Moneybox account you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and any promotion-specific terms and conditions.

We will always endeavour to notify applicable customers via the Moneybox app or email of any promotion that they are eligible for.  If you sign up for a Moneybox account and do not wish to be entered into promotions, please contact us to let us know. 

Promotions are offered at our discretion and so any decisions about any aspect of our promotions are ours to make. We can refuse to award any type of promotional reward for any reason at all and we won’t need to explain why. We reserve the right to void, cancel, suspend or amend any promotion at any time.

You are responsible for all costs or expenses incurred in participating in any of our promotions.

We will not be liable for anything that restricts your ability to participate in a promotion including any technical issues or the conduct of any other person.

If you breach these terms and conditions or the terms and conditions for the specific promotion then we won’t be liable for any consequences you suffer.

4. PROMOTIONS FOR A MONEYBOX CASH DEPOSIT

If we make a deposit to your account as part of a promotion, we’ll make the payment directly to the relevant product account or linked personal bank account (as applicable).

We will make a deposit in line with the terms and conditions that apply to that product and the promotion. 

The deposit will become your property once deposited into your Moneybox product or linked personal bank account.

Where a deposit is to be paid into a Lifetime ISA or Moneybox Pension, the total advertised reward may also include both the Moneybox deposit and the associated government Lifetime ISA bonus or pension tax relief from HMRC, as applicable. If you do not qualify or are not entitled to the government Lifetime ISA bonus or pensions tax relief, Moneybox will still only award the Moneybox Cash Deposit.

5. PROMOTIONS FOR MONEYBOX REWARD SHARES

To receive any Reward Shares in Moneybox as part of a promotion, you will need to enter into a Reward Share Agreement with Digital Moneybox Limited and Moneybox Share Nominee Ltd or any other relevant Moneybox entity.

Moneybox Share Nominee Ltd will hold any Reward Shares issued to you by Moneybox in line with the Financial Conduct Authority’s custody rules. You will be the beneficial owner of the Reward Shares. Moneybox is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority to safeguard and administer the Reward Shares. Moneybox Share Nominee Ltd is a fully owned and controlled subsidiary of Moneybox and Moneybox is responsible for its actions, including holding the Reward Shares on behalf of customers. 

6. ELIGIBILITY 

Subject to any eligibility requirements set out in the terms and conditions for the relevant promotion or Reward Share Agreement, you’ll need to satisfy the following criteria:

• • • Be a resident of the United Kingdom for tax purposes.
    • Not be a US person.
    • Not be an employee, contractor, officer or director of Moneybox or Moneybox Mortgages or any of their family members, which includes their spouse, civil partner, parent, child, stepchild, someone they live with an enduring family relationship, or a child or stepchild of their partner where that child or stepchild is under 18 and lives with the Moneybox or Moneybox Mortgages employee, contractor or director.

If you do any of the following things then we may disqualify you from receiving any type of reward under a promotion:

• • • Create more than one Moneybox account for the purpose of gaining multiple entries into the promotion.
    • Distribute a personal referral link to strangers, or the public at large, in order to benefit from promotions incentivising referrals.
    • Do anything that damages Moneybox’s brand or reputation.
