Can I deposit instantly?
You can make instant deposits into most of our products (excluding Notice Accounts and the Reward Savings Account) using instant bank transfers, which allow you to add money to your account in minutes. You can pay in upwards of £100 from your linked bank account in the app in Accounts > Select your account > Add money.
You do not need an active Direct Debit mandate to deposit via an instant bank transfer. So, if you’d prefer to solely deposit through these, you’re more than welcome to cancel your Direct Debit with your bank.
Most major banks should be supported for instant bank transfers – you can find a list of supported banks here. If your bank isn’t listed, then unfortunately Plaid, our payments provider, does not support instant bank transfers from your bank.
How do instant bank transfers work?
For investment accounts, you can choose whether your instant bank transfer is added to your Available Cash, or invested directly into your chosen investment allocation. For Pensions, your deposit will be invested according to your chosen allocations.
You’ll then be taken to your online banking to confirm your transfer – please also note that some banks (e.g. Barclays, NatWest, RBS, and Ulster Bank) may have additional security steps to process larger payments, such as the use of a card reader, or payment limits for new payees.
We’ll let you know via email when your bank transfer has arrived – this typically takes minutes, but can take up to 24 hours.
Once you’ve made your transfer, you can see the payment listed in Accounts > Select account > Activity.
