Key timings for the end of the 2024/25 tax year
The key timings to deposit, transfer, and open a new account before the tax year ends.
Moneybox end of tax year timings
For those of you who have been Moneybox customers for more than one tax year, you’ll know that we have a few timings to run through. The 2024/25 tax year ends on 5th April. To get you ready, here are our timings for final deposits, transfers, and new account openings.
Transfers
- 5pm, Friday 28th February 2025: cutoff for transferring an ISA held elsewhere into a Moneybox Lifetime ISA (LISA).
- This cutoff does not apply to ISA to ISA or LISA to LISA transfers – you can do these right up until the end of the 2024/25 tax year.
Deposits
- 12pm, Wednesday 26th March 2025: penultimate collection (this will be debited from your linked bank account on 31st March 2025).
- 12pm, Wednesday 2nd April 2025: final weekly collection (this will be debited from your linked bank account on 7th April 2025). You can still continue to deposit during the 2024/25 tax year after this final weekly collection with an easy bank transfer or manual bank transfer.
- 11.59pm, Saturday 5th April 2025: cutoff to make easy bank transfers and for us to receive manual bank transfers for the 2024/25 tax year.
Move money
- 5pm, Thursday 3rd April 2025: cutoff for moving money between your Moneybox accounts.
New account openings
- 3pm, Saturday 5th April: new product opening paused for new Moneybox customers in the 2024/25 tax year for Lifetime ISA, Cash ISA, Stocks & Shares ISA, and Junior ISA.
- 5pm, Saturday 5th April: new product opening paused for existing Moneybox customers in the 2024/25 tax year for Lifetime ISA, Cash ISA, Stocks & Shares ISA, and Junior ISA.
- 8am, Sunday 6th April: new product opening resumes for the 2025/26 tax year for Lifetime ISA, Cash ISA, Stocks & Shares ISA, and Junior ISA.
On Sunday 6th April the 2025/26 tax year starts, and your annual tax-free allowance resets to £20,000 – ready for a new year of achieving your goals! For now, check out how much of your allowance you’ve already used in the 2024/25 tax year.
